Dear Etrain,
It felt like the odds were against me this year for family photos. We set a date with Auntie Ansley , but then you got sick. Finding another date was tough as it was getting closer to Christmas, but Ansley had one weekend morning available so we took it. But about a week earlier it was forecasted to rain that day. The day for our photo shoot came, and we lucked out. No rain!
Each year I try to pick a new place for photos, so this year I picked a botanical garden near our house. Turned out there were lots of great places for photos. I think our biggest challenge was the sun. A sunny day is great for bright light, but tough when it shines in your eyes, or only one one part of your face...or just on one person and not the others.
Either way, it ended up being a great morning of photos. You were a great sport, and even ended up telling me how much you liked your shirt and tie, even though you threw a huge fit before we left. You were adamant that you hated the shirt and tie and that you wouldn't wear it. We told you, you just had to try it and only had to wear it for a little bit. And just like your Halloween costume, you ended up liking it.
Here are some of the photos that made it onto this year's Christmas card, or were at least considered.
As you can see from the photo about there were a ton of leaves here. We were pretty much done with photos so we let you play with the leaves. You liked gathering them up and throwing them...we had some fun tossing them on you. I actually took these pics below of you with my new phone. I love the feature where the person is clear, but the background gets blurred out.
I actually had a whole different set of cards printed with all of us on the front. Unfortunately, as you may have noticed, many of the good photos of all of us together were blurry. The group photo I picked didn't look that bad on screen, but once I got the printed version, it was way too blurry. So, I chose of the photos from my phone for front and center. How adorable are you?! You sure do bring me Joy.
Here's some other photos from our day. You sure can be a goofy little boy!
Love,
Mama
