Funky, Funky Christmas

Dear Etrain,

Oh son. You are so much fun. This is why is was a funky, funky Christmas this year...

Ha! This song is terrible, but somehow it makes you so happy. We must have listened to New Kids on the Block's Funky Funky Christmas a million times in the week leading up to Christmas (and a suppose a couple days after). Every time it comes on you get up and dance. Seriously, only a few beats at the beginning of the song will start and you'll drop what you're doing, stand up, and start grooving. It's gotta be one of the cutest things you've done lately.

We had a nice simple holiday. Grammy was in town and she and I took you to see Santa a few days before Christmas so you could make sure he knew what you wanted. You weren't too happy with him. We'll keep trying. Eventually you'll love Santa - most kids do.

Christmas Eve we went to Nana and Papa's house. We opened presents, had a tasty meal, and you got play with all your new toys. You got even more trucks and cars and you were so happy. We left a few at Nana and Papa's house so you could have some to play with when you're at their house. It was a nice get together for me because I got to spend Christmas Eve with both my mom and dad at the same time which hasn't happened in decades. It was also nice to see your Auntie Jenna.

Christmas Day you guessed it...we opened more presents! Have I mentioned how lucky you are? You got so many cool toys including a fire truck from Grammy. You can sit on the truck and drive it around. You're not too sure about it right now and mostly just like standing next to it and pushing the buttons, but when you're older I'm sure you'll be all over that thing. I'll have to chase you around the neighborhood. :)

Later that day we went to the park with Ginger and played. Ginger showed us how high she can jump!

Then once it got dark, Grammy, Dada, you and I jumped into the car and went driving around looking at Christmas lights. We went to the same house we went to last year that was all decked out for the holiday. Oh and this happens to be the same coat and hat we had you in last year. Ha!

I can't wait for next year! You'll have a better grasp on what Christmas is, who Santa is, etc. We can decorate the house way more that we did this year. And hopefully we'll start up some more family traditions.

Merry, merry Christmas baby boo.

Love,
Mama
