Birthday Bash

Dear Etrain,

We held your birthday party the weekend before your birthday and boy did you party. Mama and Dada invited all of our friends (and their kids) along with your grandparents - even Grammy flew down to be at your party - and we all had so much fun.

We had hoped the house would be done with construction for your party, but unfortunately they couldn't finish in time. With everyone coming over, we hoped to show them a finished house. But none of that really mattered. We had food and drinks and a bunch of your toys for the kids and everyone was happy. Especially you. I saw you walking into the gym room where we had all your toys (and where all the kids were playing). You got to the door and I thought for sure you were going to get upset with so much action and everyone playing with your stuff. Instead you let out the cutest squeal and did a little happy dance. I wish I had caught it on video. You were so excited. I loved watching you playing everyone.

Oh wow did you score on presents. You are a very lucky little boy. There were a ton of gifts and I'd say about 85% or more were truck/tractor/train/car related - which is perfect because that's all you talk about and want to play with.

I wish I had taken more photos during the party, but I was too busy entertaining everyone and forgot. Oops. I did manage to snap a few, but I'll ask Papa Vigil to see what photos he got. We saved opening presents for the next day when Dada got home from work. You loved everything, but got a little frustrated opening gifts and not being able to play with them right away. So we saved the rest for another day and that was just as fun.

This year's party was a little like last year, filled with mostly our friends. Next year I'm sure you'll be telling us what theme you want your party to be - you may even have a friend or two to invite. We'll see. It'll be another great birthday bash I'm sure.

Love,
Mama
