Notes from Nana

Dearest Ethan,

Watch out world here he comes. 16 months old and on the move. So much to explore and discover.

You grab my finger tightly and pull me towards the backyard. After walking all around we eventually settle into the chair with you on my lap. Do you see any ducks I ask (quack quack)? No I don't see any ducks. Do you see any cows I ask (moo moo). No I don't see any cows. We search the sky and trees for any sign of animal or bird. You are intrigued, mesmerized, waiting with anticipation. Finally a bird perches on the chair in front of us. Look a birdie I exclaim! We are both excited that the little bird has paid us a visit. We watch the gentle wind move the leaves on the trees and observe the clouds in the sky. We are just present in the moment enjoying all that God has made just for us.

Lord, give me the eyes of a child; full of wonder and awe at the simple things in life.

As I kiss his warm soft cheek, I thank God for this special moment with this dear little boy.

With love,
Nana
