Dada and I had so much fun with you this past Sunday. We went to a late lunch in Laguna, then decided to stop at Aliso Creek Beach on our way back home. We weren't dressed for the beach, but you didn't care one bit.
At first you were a little unsure about the sand. You've been in sand before, but not like this. Once you figured out how fun sand is, you were off. You crawled all over - I've never seen you crawl so fast. You kept heading over to a family with kids that had sand toys. They were nice enough to let you play with them. Every time we pulled you away you complained. We'd set you down somewhere else far away on the beach, and you'd crawl back to them. And in between you'd swat at the sand and launch it into the air.
It was simple day, but it was such a joy to watch how happy you were. And yes, I was there - behind the camera - hence all the photos and video of you and Dada. :)
We had such a great time and the weather has been great (85 degrees in February!), so you and I went to the beach again Wednesday. :) This time we had swimsuits and we stopped and bought sand toys on our way down. I've never seen you sit and concentrate on one thing for so long...ever. You probably played with the sand for a good 30 minutes. And when you needed something new, you b-lined to the water. I held your hands as we stomped on the wet sand and white wash as it rolled up the beach. You had no fear of the waves/water at all. Great news for Dada, since he can't wait to teach you to surf.
We'll go again soon little one.
Love,
Mama
