Dear Etrain,
Don't mind me. I'm just over here ugly crying. How is my baby boy already three years old?! It really is exciting to watch you grow and develop into the coolest little dude, but man it's hard knowing you're getting farther and farther away from being a little boy, my baby.
We had a rough week or two prior to your birthday. You got super sick...like, the most sick you've ever been. But you came around (mostly) in time for your birthday, which was great.
Your birthday fell on a Thursday this year. Dada had to work, but he went in late and came home early to be with us. That morning the first thing you did was open your birthday presents. Your favorite by far was your Monster Jam track and three monster trucks. You've REALLY been into monster trucks lately, but one was taken and another broke, so I figured this would be a hit. And it was. It's as if all other toys ceased to exist.
We took a short break from monster trucks to have some birthday cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Whoops. We used the candles that keep relighting after you blow them out.
And then we went back to monster trucks...
Later that day we met Dada near his work for lunch. Next door to the restaurant is a yummy cupcake store, so we grabbed some birthday cupcakes and had them that night. Yum.
Two days later was your birthday party. I invited some of our friends, the neighbors from down the street, and some of your buddies from school. All of your grandparents came as well...including Grammy! We had the party at My Gym and I'd say it was a success. All the kids seemed to have a great time. Miss Lauren and Miss Jesse had tons of fun activities for you guys to do.
We started with the free play time in the gym while everyone arrived.
Then we went around the circle to get everyone's names and ages.
And did some stretching...
Then some fun activities...
...including throwing balls at Dada.
This was a pretty fun crew.
You were a tad shy at your party. You really love playing and having a good time with your buddies, but I think it was also a little overwhelming for you to be the center of attention. That and you weren't feeling 100%. You were shy while we sang Happy Birthday to you, but we helped you blow out your candle. Everyone had some homemade cupcakes, and I got you a little cake of your own.
After cupcakes you ran back out on the floor for bubbles!
Then it was time to take you and your chocolate covered face home.
You scored on a bunch of really awesome presents. You're such a lucky little man.
Being sick made this birthday a little rough, but overall it was a success and I think you had a ton of fun considering. You're still enjoying all your gifts and can't wait for your next class at My Gym.
Happy birthday my sweet boy.
Love,
Mama
P.S. This was this year's birthday party invitation...
Thank you for posing for a million photos so I could get the perfect shot. I have to admit you look quite handsome, son.
